Abstract Using 3D Hashin damage rules and the corresponding property degradation rules, the ultimate sagging and hogging longitudinal strength of a composite ship hull was analyzed considering the delamination damage mode based on the stress criteria of delamination. Then the degradation factor was presented which is used to predict the longitudinal strength of composite ship considering the delamination damage mode from the calculation of longitudinal strength of composite ship without considering the delamination damage model.
