Abstract The evaluation for complex curved surface of highspeed train driver room was investigated from three aspects including dimension precision, surface profile and surface smoothness. On the basis of dimension variation calculating with the algorithm of subdivision approach and surface smoothness analyzing with the map of Gauss curvature and reflection line,a new method for the evaluation of profile deformation rule and microscopic geometrical characteristics was brought forward, which uses normal vector to analyze the curved surface. The comprehensive evaluation model was performed based on quantified results of surface smoothness with fuzzy math using the method of TOPSIS. The test on the application in actual manufacturing shows that the new method and model of evaluation for complex curved surface are effectual.
