Abstract Abstract: Experimental investigations were conducted on the performance of the lowswirl multinozzle burner in a gas turbine model combustor. The effect of equivalence ratio and nozzle exit velocity on the dynamic characteristic, exhaust temperature and emission was analyzed. The experimental results show that there are three types of operation mode, ie., stable combustion region, unstable combustion region, and flashback region for the lowswirl multinozzle burner. The multinozzle flames tend to be unstable with the amplitude of pressure oscillation increasing and frequency decreasing when the equivalence ratio is decreased. The flames become stable and the frequency of pressure fluctuation increases when the inlet velocity is increased. NOx emissions for the multinozzle burner show a loglinear dependency on the adiabatic flame temperature and are less sensitive to the flame temperature than those for single nozzle.
