Abstract Based on the selfelevating platform structure and the Stokes 5th wave theory, the dynamic and static shear forces of the foundation were computed and analyzed. Then the detailed calculation method was compared with the singlefreedomdegree method, which is much more conservative. Finally, the mechanism of the suppression on the dynamic amplification factor(DAF) was analyzed and the real DAF value was reduced through the increase of the platform stiffness.
