Abstract A tetraene compound was purified from the secondary metabolites of Streptomyces hygrospinosus var. Beijingensis, the producing strain of Agroantibiotic 120. The results of LCMS on molecular weight and NMR on structural identification show that it is Tetramycin B with the UV absorption spectrum of tetraene macrolide antibiotics. The bioassay result shows it inhibits the growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, indicating it is one of the effective components in Agroantibiotic 120.
