Abstract The formal modeling method for UAVs(unmanned air vehicles) interoperability based on domain ontology semantic model was introduced. Semantic description model for multiUAVs interaction description and the semantic enhanced method for interactive configuration were proposed. UAV ontology and UAV interaction description ontology were designed. Based on the OWLS (ontology Web language for services), dynamic properties description of multiUAVs was extended, which can provide semantic description for service quality, service status and service relationships, etc. In order to achieve multiUAVs’ automatic and dynamic configuration, semantic method based on domain ontology was used to configuration management. Highlevel semantic matching was introduced in multiUAVs configuration, which can increase multiUAVs’ interaction configuration with semantic processing. The simulation and experimental result shows that the proposed method of semantic interoperability based on ontology can support multiUAVs effectively in future.
