Abstract For slurry shield construction, based on the construction practice of Shanghai Jungong Road large slurry shield tunnel, the effective control of the deformation of the surrounding environment was discussed regarding the construction process and technology measures in the complex environment. The field monitoring data indicate that the shield will have an impact on the surrounding environment, resulting in the uneven settlement of buildings. The practical results show that the construction parameters should be reasonably adjusted in shield construction, and settlement of the ground should be effectively controlled by establishment of monitoring information network, or protection of the buildings using ground tracking grouting.
