Abstract A set of analytical equations of the loadingdisplacement curve of upper pile segment for the O-cell pile testing (OPT) method were established by using load transfer method. The lateral soil of pile shaft was simulated with a tri-linear load-transfer function and the gravity of pile shaft was taken into account. Also, the method to determine parameters for the pile-soil system with OPT data was mentioned. The theoretical results were compared with engineering cases from literatures. The method could be used as a theory guide to determine the frictional force at the pile-soil interface and furthermore to obtain the loading-displacement curve of traditional loading test with OPT data.
