| Correlation with Pellet Shape, Metabolic Profiling and Anticancer Activity of Endophyte FSN002 |

Abstract FSN002, an endophyte isolated from the catalpa tree, can develop different pellet forms in fermentation. Therefore, different pellets were selected as strains and fermented, and the anti-cancer test was done and HPLC of corresponding fermentation broth was analyzed. The results show that yellow substances in the fermentation broth consist of the medium hydrophobic substance with anticancer activity and other yellow impurities. The large pellet with surrounding fimbria (A) is characterized by high production，and produces more yellow substances, while the purity of the active substance is lower than 60% based on HPLC peak area. The squid-like pellet with a small head and long tail (D) is interesting because of its high purity of the yellow active substance and the feasibility of the following purification.
