Abstract Abstract: The dynamic equation for collision was established and solved by using the central difference method. Structural dynamic responses for landing collision of a new underwater lifting device supporting an operationtype ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) were studied by using numerical simulation. The whole velocity, effective stress, elastic strain, plastic strain and the second collision in the collision course were analyzed. By comparing the simulation result of five common landing conditions, the influence of landing velocity on structural dynamic response was analyzed, providing a theoretical basis for structure design and load selection of underwater lifting device.
