Model Experiment of Time Distribution of Flare Slamming |

Abstract Slamming ship model experiments of a container ship were conducted in the wave basin. Based on the form of impulse triangle of bottom slamming and experimental data, the time of flare slamming was obtained again, and the time distribution model of flare slamming was established. Besides, the flare slamming pressure of this ship was predicted by Wagner’s theory of impact. The experimental results showed that the theoretical results were in a good agreement with the experimental data and the flare slamming time characteristic was reflected by the method properly.
