Connectivity on One-and Two-Way Flight Routes in Aeronautical Ad hoc Networks |

Abstract A scheme of storecarryforward in delay/disruption tolerant network (DTN) was introduced to eliminate some problems in the oceanic aeronautical Ad hoc networks (AANET), such as low node density and low connectivity. The connectivity probability of AANET on one and twoway of the flight routes were analyzed theoretically and verified through simulations. Furthermore, the connectivity probability of AANET over North Pacific Ocean Route was calculated using the information of scheduled flights between East Asia and North America, validating the effectiveness of the storecarryforward scheme. The result shows that the scheme can improve the connectivity of AANET, especially in the condition of low aircraft density.
