Professor Pan’s academic innovations include: (1) introducing the concepts of prose-style and parallel-style, which have enlightening implications for the study of Chinese parallelism today; (2) discussing “constructions” as another manifestation of Chinese function words, which is equally enlightening for today’s research on constructions; (3) producing the theory of Compositional Translatology.
