Gracilis is located in the medial compartment of the thigh. The main pedicle of this muscle arises from the medial circumflex femoral vessels and profunda femoris vessels. The gracilis receives its innervation from the anterior division of obturator nerve. Based on the pedicles, the gracilis muscle flap and the perforator flap are widely used in plastic surgery in recent years. In this paper, the clinical use of the gracilis flap and perforator flap in plastic surgery were reviewed.
