    SJTU Journal Center and World Scientific Forge Partnership with Memorandum Signing

  • On April 16th, a fruitful exchange took place at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) Journal Center as a delegation from the World Scientific of Singapore engaged in a seminar. Among the attendees were notable figures such as Chi Wai Lee, Deputy General Manager of World Scientific, Rebecca Fu, Director for China, Tay See Loong, Chinese Representative, Britney Jiang, Director of Marketing Department, and Yi Tan, Director of the SJTU Journal Center, with the meeting being overseen by Yunze Cai, Deputy Director of the Journal Center.

    During the meeting, Yi Tan extended a warm welcome to Chi Wai Lee and his delegation, providing insights into the rich history, scale, and cluster construction achievements of academic journals at SJTU. Emphasizing the significance of the gathering, Yi Tan expressed optimism about laying the groundwork for future collaboration, fostering a broader platform for international academic exchange, and enhancing the influence of Asia-Pacific scholars on the global stage. It is anticipated that leveraging each other's strengths will facilitate the joint promotion of global scientific knowledge dissemination.


    In response, Chi Wai Lee conveyed gratitude for the gracious hospitality extended by the Journal Center, offering insights into the development trajectory of the World Scientific and its existing publishing collaborations with Chinese academic institutions. Recognizing the solid foundation for collaboration between World Scientific and SJTU, Chi Wai Lee outlined areas for potential deepened cooperation, including journal founding, construction, activity planning, publicity, promotion, and market operations. This collaborative effort aims to harness the collective strengths of both entities, ensuring the sustainable advancement of academic pursuits.
    Culminating the productive discussion, both parties sealed their commitment to collaboration by signing a memorandum of cooperation, heralding a new chapter in their partnership.

    After the formal proceedings, both delegations engaged in cordial interactions and in-depth deliberations regarding the future trajectory of academic journal publications, discipline exploration, and expanding overseas channels. Fei Pan, Assistant Director of the Journal Center, accompanied Chi Wai Lee and his delegation on a guided tour of the Journal Center, further fostering understanding and collaboration between the two parties.
