当前的大学英语教学存在的一个重要问题是将英语这一学习工具当作学习目标,而将其他学科知识信息当作达成目标之手段,这也成为大学英语教学改革的一个难题。为了突破这一改革瓶颈,本研究根据加拿大“浸没式”语言教学理论,通过对大学英语教材的调研,开设了《美国文明史》英语课程,依托美国历史学科内容,展开英语教学的探索和实践,创立了“连动型”教学模式。该模式以教学内容激发学习兴趣,以学习兴趣引领研修方法,以研修方法决定评估结果,以评估结果成就培养目标,最终形诸于一个可广泛应用的课程改革方案,为中国大学英语从教学理念到教学实践、从教学内容到教学方式进行实质性、大面积的改革,提供了一个可供复制的典型样式。
Albeit its impressive achievements so far, China's contemporary large-scale reform on the teaching of college English is suffering from a serious bottleneck that seems to have crippled all reform efforts: English is being taken as the end rather than a means of subject studies. After a detailed research into contemporary college English textbooks, this project team realizes the content-based Immersion Teaching Theory in the course of American Civilization, and thereby constructs a Dynamic Teaching Mode by catering to the students' interest with proper materials and mobilizing the concerted efforts of both teachers and students with a repertoire of pedagogical programs. The DTM finally boils down to a feasible and applicable teaching format that is most likely to revolutionize present practices of college English pedagogy.
