语言研究的描写与解释

Description and Explanation in Linguistic Research
描写与解释是语言研究的两大方法。然而,国内学术界对这两大方法究竟是什么以及它们到底具有什么特征等问题,存在着认识不清的现象。语言学研究不仅要坚守描写,而且还要突破描写,走向解释。描写与解释共同肩负着语言学研究的重大任务。描写负责弄清“有什么”“是什么”“怎么样”这样的语言研究问题,解释负责弄清“为什么”这样的原因探索、因果性发现和原理归纳等问题。只有在正确认识描写与解释各自的类别、特征与要求以及二者关系的基础上,语言研究才能完成其历史使命。语言研究要从描写语言学迈步走向解释语言学,是语言学学科发展的必然趋势。解释语言学“必将成为人文领域的中心学科之一”。
