在菲利普·罗斯的小说中,关于主人公的欲望书写构成了小说叙事的典型特征。本文以《乳房》为例,采用文本细读法,从叙事文本的故事层面与话语层面剖析了小说中的欲望之因、欲望之吟以及欲望之态,体现其狂欢化诗学特征,并发现原欲驱动下的欲望书写在某种意义上揭示了欲望与现实过渡之间的“可能世界”。这对美国自由欲望与伦理制度可能引发的政治闹剧具有一定的启发意义。

In Philip Roth’s novels, the desire of the protagonist constitutes the typical feature of the novel narrative. Based on a meticulous reading of The Breast through the lens of story and discourse of the narrative, this paper analyzes the desirous cause, utterance, and effect, and identifies the carnival poetic characteristics of Roth’s fiction. It is held that the “possible world” is in a sense the libido-driven result of the transition between the desire and the reality, which is of significance to understand the political farce that might be triggered by the American free desire and ethical system.
