Abstract The radar/infrared compound hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulation is a critical means to the design, development and evaluation of compound precision guidance equipment. In this study, the research status of foreign seekers were introduced initially, and then the development status of radar/infrared compound guide HWIL simulation technology domestically and abroad was given. After that, the characteristics of various compound HWIL simulation systems were analyzed, and finally, the prospect of the composite HWIL simulation technology was proposed. This study thus provides a reference for the construction of the simulation system and the implementation of the simulation test.
