Abstract:

Objective To explore the surgical method and clinical effect of porous high-density polyethylene in the correction of secondary unilateral cleft lip nasal deformity. Methods From October 2017 to June 2022,32 patients with secondary unilateral cleft lip nasal deformity received rhinoplasty using porous high-density polyethylene. The results were evaluated by analyzing the changes of nasal and facial parameters before and after surgery, the incidence of postoperative complications and the postoperative satisfaction of patients. Results The mean follow-up time of patients in this group was (20.0±6.5) months, and there were significant differences in nasal and facial parameters before and after surgery (P< 0.05) . Delayed incision healing occurred in 1 patient after surgery, and no complications occurred in other patients. The overall satisfaction rate of patients with the surgical effect was 96.9%. Conclusion Using porous high-density polyethylene to correct the nasal deformity secondary to unilateral cleft lip can obtain good and stable long-term results with high safety.
