Abstract: As a kind of biomedical material, modified hydroxyapatite-based material has good mechanical properties, biocompatibility and osteoinductive ability. It has the advantages of similar composition with natural bone, not easy to cause immune rejection, good biological activity and compatibility, non-toxic, degradable, easy to prepare and process, and makes up for the shortcomings of natural bone material transplantation. In this paper, the biological modification, physicochemical modification and composite modification methods of the material were introduced, and the effects of different modification methods on the properties of the material were compared. In addition, the current problems and challenges of modified hydroxyapatite-based material were presented in the discussion section, and the future development of this kind of material was also prospected.
