Effectiveness of Modified Watte Flap in Repairing Palatal Fistula after Maxillary Fracture

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of modified watte flap in repairing palatal fistula after maxillary fracture. Methods From 2015 to 2017, 10 patients with palatal fistula after maxillary fracture were treated by modified wat-te flap under general anesthesia. Results All wounds healed well. All patients were followed up for 1-6 months, the palate was well formed with no functional abnormality. Conclusion Modified watte flap is a simple and practical method to repair palatal fistula after maxillary fracture with less surgical injury. It can achieve good results in selected cases.
