Abstract To satisty rigorous requirement for the thermal protection system of the cable cover for long-range air-defense missile, mechanical capability of 2.5D SiO2 fiber-reinforced/phenolic resin-based composite is studied through the combined heat and force test based on samples. The structure design of integrated thermal protection and load bearing of composite material cable cover is accomplished based on the finite element simulation technology. The test results show that the composite material cable cover satisfies the thermal protection and load bearing requirements of the air-defense missile during its high speed and long time flight.
