Abstract In this paper, the tracking differentiator is used to extract LOS angular rate of strapdown seeker. Firstly, the mathematical mechanism of extracting LOS angular rate of strapdown seeker by tracking differentiator is described. Then, a method of fast obtaining the frequency-domain characteristics of tracking differentiator by using the rotating equivalent force is proposed. Based on the frequency-domain characteristics, the parameter design and performance analysis of two typical tracking differentiators are carried out. Finally, based on the above design results, modeling simulation and calculation analysis are carried out to verify the LOS angular rate decoupling effect of tracking differentiator.
