Research on a Guidance Law for Single Roll Control Vehicle |

Abstract The Single Roll Control Vehicle (SRCV) has a simple lifting configuration with a fixed angle of attack, and maneuvers using a single roll control system to change the direction of lift. However, the characteristics of single roll control make it difficult to satisfy the instructions in vertical and lateral planes at the same time. The existing guidance methods cannot effectively be employed in such vehicles. The multiple constraints during the reentry process also add the difficulty of guidance design. This paper obtains the requirements of the guidance method which is suitable for SRCV via investigating the adaptability of existing guidance law. Then a guidance command adapter is presented. Based on it, a reentry guidance method is given. The simulation result illustrates that the method achieved the accurate landingpoint control with constraints, requiring continuous guidance command which is favorable for attitude control system.
