本文以刘殿爵的《论语》英译本为例,从诠释学角度剖析译者如何从自身“前理解”出发,通过序言、附录、诠释性译文等方式,在理解中创造、在理解中对话、在理解中改进,努力实现译者视阈与《论语》原文本视阈、期待读者视阈、《论语》英译本视阈相融合,将中国儒家经典的精髓传播到异域之邦,彰显不同于西方的哲学思维方式,弘扬博大精深的中华文化。
This paper, taken hermeneutics as the theoretical framework, is devoted to an analysis of how D.C. Lau translated The Analects by means of writing introduction, attaching appendix and translating with notes. More attention will be given to interpret how he revised his translations in three English versions by improving his understanding of the original text on the basis of his own “pre-understanding” and trying to fuse his horizon as a translator with horizons of the original text, expected readers and the published English version of The Analects. By D. C. Lau’s meticulous translation, the essence of Chinese Confucian classics has been well interpreted to the western world and a different way of thinking from the West has been revealed in the process of spreading the profound Chinese culture.
