From the Grand to the Subtle:An Interview with Professor Jiang Hongxin

Abstract: In this interview, Prof. Jiang Hongxin expresses his profound views on such issues as the relationship between the idea of university and teaching for English specialty, the importance of general education and the new version of National Standard for the Undergraduate Teaching Quality of English Majors. With the examples of Ezra Pound Studies and twentieth century American literary thoughts, he shares his research methods as integrity of macro and micro studies, combination of theories and texts, and he lays emphasis on comparative and cross cultural research from the local position, which are valuable to young scholars.
