Abstract: This paper reviews the latest development of Critical Period Hypothesis (CPH) based on ERP technology in second morpho-syntactic acquisition. It first examines the previous studies supporting the CHP and analyzes the methodological problems. The latest research that objects to CPH is also discussed. It demonstrates that Convergence Hypothesis is supported by an increasing number of researchers. No significant difference was found between second language learners with high proficiency levels and the native speakers in morpho-syntactic acquisition. Finally, the authors discuss the future research prospects in the area.
