The Fundamentals and Mechanisms of Realization Optimality Theory

Abstract: Realization Optimality Theory is a new morphological framework that has been developed in recent years. There is not much discussion of this framework in Chinese linguistic circles. This article discusses the theoretical fundamentals, assumptions, mechanisms, and constraints of Realization Optimality Theory. It also presents the advantages of this framework in explaining morphological phenomena compared to alternative ones such as conventional Optimality Theory.
