Review on Higher Education Quality Assurance at Home and Abroad (2014-2017) Based on Articles Published on SSCI- and CSSCI-indexed Journals

Abstract: Against the background of “Building World-Class Universities and Disciplines”, the research of quality assurance for higher education has received world-wide attention from scholars home and abroad. This paper reviews 270 papers on quality assurance of higher education published in major SSCI- and CSSCI-indexed journals between 2014 and 2017 from three perspectives: research subjects, research methodology as well as research contents. The results show there are 5 categories concerning research contents: 1) concept reconstruction; 2) relations interaction; 3) elements highlighting; 4) connotation deconstruction and 5) idea construction. Compared with studies abroad, domestic research contains a wide range of subjects, but in terms of methodology as well as contents, there is still room for improvement. Finally, in the light of the research trend abroad, this paper puts forward some constructive and practical suggestions concerning the research on quality assurance of higher education in China.
