Abstract

Verbal behavior, from the functional perspective, analyzes the cause-and-effect relations of human verbal behavior, in which the key to understand its theoretical framework is on the use of neologistic terms. Taking it as the point-of-departure, the paper discusses the misunderstandings of Skinner’s behavioral theory initiated by Noam Chomsky and points out the great innovation and insightfulness of Skinner’s work.
