A questionnaire survey was conducted over more than 1000 college students, previous graduates and teachers of a university of science and technology. Data were analyzed through SPSS 19.0 by means of Descriptive Statistics, Independent-samples t -test and One-way ANOVA to investigate the participants' needs on College English Courses. Results show that teachers and students are not satisfied with the current course in various aspects. Based on the survey results, the authors put forward several suggestions on the improvement of college English courses so as to better meet the needs of Science and Engineering Majors for further specialized study and research.
