Studies on the Translation of Scientific and Technical Terms from the Perspective of Transknowletology: A Case Study on the Translation of “Operations Research”
Mesostudies under transknowletology are on the way, while the research on translation of scientific and technical terms with the function of knowledge creation and communication by its nature is calling for new theories to be better interpreted. Taking the translation of “operations research” as an example, this paper finds that new knowledge is created during the collision and integration of local knowledge respectively in source language and target language, which brings about “proactive knowledge feedback” on source knowledge and hence knowledge integration. In such a way, the transformation, iteration and creation of knowledge are realized through translation, thus helping shape the community of shared knowledge.
