Abstract: Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an autologous platelet concentrate containing large amounts of platelets and growth factors, which has the advantage of being derived from one's own blood, simple to preparate and no immune rejection. It has been used in animal models and in clinical stages to demonstrate its healing and repair effects. The clinical applications of PRP in tissue defect repair were reviewed in this article, in order to provide a more comprehensive reference for future applications and research in this field.
