Abstract: Breast tissue engineering is considered to be the ultimate solution of breast reconstruction. Breast is special soft tissue. As one of the three elements of tissue engineering, scaffold material is particularly important in breast tissue engineering. The ideal scaffold material should have similar physical and biochemical properties to the target tissue, provide an appropriate biochemical and physical environment, and be able to regulate the response of seed cells to specific tissue engineering requirements. The properties of biomaterials, such as mechanical and chemical functionality, influence cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation. Therefore, the ideal scaffold should have good biocompatibility to prevent the occurrence of long-term immune response. In addition, a good biological scaffold should have a suitable porous structure to facilitate angiogenesis and provide nutrients for cell proliferation and differentiation. The above are directly related to the material selection and preparation process of scaffolds. In this paper, the scaffold materials that can be used in breast tissue engineering research were listed, and the related preparation processes according to the characteristics of breast tissue were introduced.
