Efficacy of Surgical Treatment of Two Injuries of Superior Shoulder Suspensory Complex

Abstract: Objective To explore the effect of two injuries of superior shoulder suspensory complex(SSSC) by surgical treatment.Methods A retrospective analysis was done on 18 cases with two injuries of SSSC from August 2000 to February 2010,and the patients had different degrees of merger damage.All of the 18 cases were treated surgically,a simple immobilization was done for the obviously displaced clavicular or dislocated acromioclavicular joint in 11 cases,and combined fixation was conducted for the rest.Results According to the Herscovici system,the result was classified as excellent in 13 cases,good in 2 cases,fair in 2 cases and poor in 1 case.Conclusion The stability of the SSSC was recovered after surgery,but personalized operative treatment program should be adopted.
