Abstract: Lip defect is caused by tumor, trauma, congenital deformity, infection, scar and so on, which not only leads to facial appearance defect, but also causes facial dysfunction, such as eating inconvenience, language disorder, mastication difficulty, salivation and so on, which brings great pain to patients. Due to the existence of lip beads and human medium anatomical structure, and the limited amount of available tissue around the defect of upper lip, it requires high aesthetic requirements and is difficult to repair. In this paper, the surgical treatments of acquired upper lip defect in recent years were reviewed, and the repair plans of different types of upper lip defect were summarized.
