Abstract: With the development of immuno suppressive therapy and the change of people opinion to allotransplantation, more and more vascularized composite tissue allotransplantations (VCA), represented by hand and face allotransplantation, have been carried out in many countries. The successful rate of transplantation varies greatly among different regions. There are many factors that affect the success of surgery. Among them, a comprehensive evaluation before operation is an important point. Preoperative evaluation mainly includes surgical indication evaluation, psychological evaluation, cognitive ability evaluation, social support system evaluation, third-party agency audit, etc. In this paper, the content and importance of the above assessment were reviewed. And it is suggested that VCA teams around the world establish preoperative assessment criteria as soon as possible, and legislate third-party review mechanism to improve the success rate of surgery.
