Abstract: Patients with macromastia tend to have a high level of satisfaction after bilateral breast reduction surgery. However, some patients still seek secondary breast reduction because of inadequate symptom relief or unsatisfactory aesthetic results. To date, there is no international consensus on the safest and most effective surgical technique for secondary breast reduction. This article provided a review of recent algorithms and strategies for secondary breast reduction mammaplasty with the aim of providing a clinical reference for this relatively uncommon revision procedure.
