Abstract:In order to give full play to the effectiveness of MIMO (multiple input multiple output) radar and improve the overall capability of the weapon system, MIMO radar’s advantages and disadvantages are analyzed based on the requirement of air defense system. The signal-to-noise and the width of beam pattern after beamforming are simulated. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that MIMO radar, compared with phased array radar, has the obvious superiority in angle measuring accuracy, low intercept probability, data rate and cancellation of interference, but underperforms in detection range and range measuring precision.
