Abstract The terminal control of an extraatmospheric space vehicle is researched. On the basis of establishing the missiletarget relative motion model, a terminal control law based on the dynamic inverse theory is designed. Through computing the inverse system of the relative motion equation, the adjuster of the line of sight (LOS) angular velocity is designed to make LOS angular velocity approach zero and ensure the encounter precision of space vehicle. Due to adopting the information of target maneuver, the space vehicle can have high precision so as to achieve the high precision strike on the high maneuver target. To cope with the high frequency control problem of orbitcontrol motor, a method of LOS rate doubleenvelope is used to improve the terminal control law based on inverse theory. The simulation results demonstrate the feasibility and validity of guidance methods of space vehicle.
