Abstract The interception phenomenon of high speed, large manoeuvring and multi-target vehicles attacking from the exo-atmosphere are major challenges in the construction of the current air and space defence system. First, this study summarized the current status of foreign exo-atmospheric kill vehicle technology and flight tests. Then, it reviewed the technical progress of guidance and control methods for single exo-atmospheric kill vehicles and multi-missile cooperation interception methods. Finally, the key technologies for the future development of exo-atmospheric kill vehicles were prospected, thus providing a directional reference for future application.
