Abstract: For the Bohai Sea drilling platform in the penetration encountered in the process of the shallow gas reservoirs with different degree of bubbles phenomenon, based on the characteristics of shallow gas release during on-site exploration in the Bohai Sea, it should be believed that the main factor of shallow gas release is the original gas stress destroyed by the platform leg. The shallow gas release is the seepage failure process of the unsaturated soil when the permeability ratio of the gas-bearing soil layer exceeds the critical pressure drop of the gas pressure. It mainly affects the structural damage and disturbance of the stratum soil. The disturbed stratum of the inserted penetration is mainly divided into four areas, including high disturbance area, medium disturbance area, weak disturbance area and non-disturbance area. The collapse of the clay layer and the sand layer in the Bohai Sea will cause the soil layer to be severely disturbed, which will greatly reduce the bearing capacity of the penetration foundation, the sinking of the penetration legs or the uneven settlement of the soil layer. In order to prevent the platform penetration accident, the safety design under different working conditions should be taken into full consideration, so should the reasonable selection of penetration shoe area and release shallow air.
