Abstract:
Completion design for thermal recovery heavy oil well is different from that for normal well. According to experiences on development of heavy oil well in Bohai Bay, key technical poitns of completion design for thermal recovery heavy oil well are summarized, and analysis models of wellbore temperature profiles and working string thermal load are established. Effects of thermal injection and thermal extension of working string are evaluated, including sensitivity analysis on injection temperature and insulation measures. The results of an example shows that insulation measures can considerably lower the thermal loss along the path and the demand of reserved space in wellhead, especially at high injection temperature.
Key words: thermal recovery of heavy oil, well completion design, sand control, temperature profile, thermal load
