Abstract: In response to the current issues of unclear classification, unclear definition, and low universality of external security systems for offshore platforms, a definition of offshore platform security to prevent external human interference and damage is proposed. A universal offshore platform external security system is constructed, and industry standardization system construction ideas are proposed. We review the technical solutions, composition structures, and performance indicators of relevant offshore platform security equipment and systems in major foreign countries, with a focus on the security capabilities of ports, islands, and offshore oil and gas platforms to respond to external threats of human destruction. We provide an overview and explanation of the research progress and typical applications in the field of domestic offshore platform security, and combine actual needs with the current development of new technologies and equipment to prospect offshore platform security technology and equipment. We provide future construction ideas and suggestions, which can provide reference for further research and system construction of offshore platform external security technology.
