Abstract: A crane on an offshore platform, featuring a motor-hydraulic drive, box-type boom, and base-mounted configuration, was manufactured in 2009 with a rated capacity of 98kN. Each summer, the hydraulic oil experiences rapid overheating. As the crane ages, this issue becomes more frequent and may result in operational shutdowns, significantly impacting production efficiency. Aim to analyze the causes and effects of elevated hydraulic oil temperatures in the crane, systematically identify underlying issues, and implement technical enhancements to effectively mitigate this problem.

Key words: pedestal crane, elevated hydraulic oil temperature, radiator oil flow rate, technical upgrade and modification
