Abstract: Adopting phrase combining tasks, this research attempts to explore the acquisition of causative psyche verbs by Chinese English learners. The result shows that Chinese learners can overcome native language transfer and use English causative verbs in their V+Experiencer structure; Higher level learners use more V+Experiencer structures than lower level learners in affixed causative psyche verbs, but no such difference appears in original and transfer causative psyche verbs; morphology affects usages of causative psyche verbs while meaning and word frequencies do not.
