Abstract: Against the backdrop of political and economic globalization, Nazarbayev, the president of Kazakhstan, has proposed the concept of “Trilingual Policy”, that is, taking the Kazakh language as the national language, Russian for cross-ethnic communication, and English for the successful integration into economic globalization. The development of these three languages in Kazakhstan higher education institutions has constituted a unique linguistic landscape. Based on the current situation and characteristics of multilingual education in Kazakhstan higher education institutions, this paper analyzes the challenges faced by the multilingual education planning in Kazakhstan colleges, and also puts forward some suggestions for the multilingual education planning in China.
