A Comprehensive Analysis of Traffic Delay in the Course Design of Traffic Management and Control |

Abstract A comprehensive course design was carried out for strengthening the practical ability of student to learn knowledge and train ability. Traffic delay was a sub-task in the course design of traffic management and control. It can be got in many ways. The most common methods are the point sample method, HCM model, VISSIM simulation. Firstly, the basic principles of the three methods were fully understood for students. The relevant data should be surveyed on the basic principles of the three methods. Then the traffic delay was calculated by using the three methods. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of the three methods were compared and analyzed. It was found that the course design was a good exercise for students to discover problems, analyze and solve the problems. The effect of the course design was good, and the course design has certain promotion significance.
