对非英语专业大学生英语写作中词块运用的个案跟踪研究

A Longitudinal Case Study on the Use of Formulaic Sequences by Chinese Non-English Majors in English Writing

摘要: 恰当运用词块能够帮助学习者提高写作的流利性,使语言表达更为地道。为了更好地把握中国学生在英语写作中对词块的运用特点,本研究对国内某高校非英语专业大学生英语写作中词块运用情况进行了个案追踪。通过对学生这一时期所有作文语料的分析发现,学生的词块认知度增加,词块使用准确性和自信度有所提高,但在词块使用的数量和多样性方面存在不稳定性。基于上述研究发现,本文对大学英语分级教学后中等英语水平学习者的写作教学提出建议,包括加强词块意识培训、提高词块隐性学习策略和倡导基于词块的自由写作。

Abstract: Formulaic sequences could be advantaged by the L2 learners to achieve fluency and idiomaticity in writing. In an attempt to better understand the longitudinal development of formulaic language in English writing, especially in the Chinese context, we followed a group of five Chinese non-English major college students and analyzed all the writing assignments. The research finds out that the subjects' awareness, appropriateness and confidence of using lexical bundles are enhanced to a certain degree, while the quantity and diversity of using lexical bundles are unstably changed. Based on those findings, some suggestions on English writing instruction are made for intermediate English learner, which includes enhancing the training on the awareness of using formulaic sequences, improving the implicit strategies of learning formulaic sequences, and requiring a model of free writing with formulaic sequences.
